Goldman Sachs, a leading global investment bank, has further diversified its cryptocurrency portfolio by investing in Ethereum (ETH) ETFs and other crypto options, alongside its existing investment in Bitcoin ETFs. This strategic move underscores the bank’s commitment to the crypto market and its growth potential.
Goldman Sachs Also Holds Sizable Chunk of Ethereum ETFs
In addition to its significant investment in Bitcoin ETFs, Goldman Sachs also holds a considerable amount of Ethereum (ETH) ETFs and other crypto options. This diversified portfolio approach further underscores the bank’s commitment to the cryptocurrency market and its potential for growth. The move is expected to have a positive impact on the overall crypto market, including new and emerging projects like Meme Index.
Goldman Sachs Significantly Increases ETH ETF Holdings
Goldman Sachs has expanded its Ether ETF holdings by 2,000% in the fourth quarter of 2024, signaling strong institutional crypto adoption. The investment giant increased its spot Ether ETF holdings from $22 million to $476 million, with nearly equal allocation between BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) and another fund. This move comes as Ethereum ETFs are seeing rising inflows, sparking speculation of an upcoming 'Ethereum Season'.
Ethereum Exchange Outflows Hit Highest Level In 2 Years, Signaling Bullish Trend
Data from the on-chain analytics firm Santiment reveals that Ethereum has recently experienced its highest exchange net outflows in approximately two years. This trend, indicated by the Exchange Flow Balance metric, suggests a bullish outlook for the ETH price as investors withdraw their coins from exchanges, potentially for holding or other non-selling purposes.
Ethereum Price Faces Further Downside Risks
Ethereum’s price has experienced a significant drop over the past few weeks, breaking below the 200-day moving average. While the price has seemingly stabilized, further downside movement is still a possibility. The daily chart indicates that ETH could test the $2,700 level, and a failure to reclaim this level and the 200-day moving average could lead to a subsequent bearish move towards the $2,400 support level.
